Heritage to Craft Grower

Robin Andruss is the head grower and founder of High Mountain Organics. She grew up in the mountains in a semi-intentional community in the Yalakom Valley near Lillooet, BC. Homeschooled and raised close to the land, her early years were spent in the garden, caring for animals, and hauling organic inputs up steep mountain slopes to hillside cannabis patches.

This was legacy cultivation—long before legalization—where the work was rooted in community, resilience, and a deep respect for the plant.

Cannabis has always been Robin’s passion, and she has remained committed to organic, sun-grown methods throughout her life. Today, she lives and works on her family farm alongside a close-knit group of collaborators. Together, they produce much of their own food using regenerative, living soil practices that reflect the rhythms of the land.

High Mountain Organics is a team effort, with Robin at the head—bringing decades of experience, intuition, and care into every harvest. The farm operates in alignment with the seasons: planting in spring, tending through the heat of summer, and harvesting, air-drying, and hand-trimming in the fall to preserve the full expression of the plant.

Time on the farm extends beyond cannabis. It’s spent canning, freezing, and putting away food and flower for the winter months—continuing a way of life that values self-sufficiency, quality, and connection.

Robin was the first in her community to apply for a cannabis license under the MMAR in 2013. She successfully navigated the transition through MMPR and ACMPR, and today holds both a Micro-Cultivation and Micro-Processing license under High Mountain Organics—bringing legacy knowledge into the legal market while staying rooted in the values it was built on.

Robin is also deeply engaged in the broader cannabis community, regularly attending and speaking on panels and at industry events. She values connection and collaboration, and is passionate about sharing knowledge while learning from others across the sector. Her contributions have been recognized through her inclusion in the Legacy Legends project, and she has participated in a number of collaborative pre-roll packs that bring together like-minded craft producers to showcase the diversity and strength of BC cannabis..

ABOUT HIGH MOUNTAIN ORGANICS

It has been a long road, and we have only just begun. Here starts the next step of our journey to produce high quality, sustainable, craft cannabis, using organic methods.

High Mountain Organics is located in the Yalakom Valley where there is a rich history of sun grown flower. Our long hot summers, clean mountain water, and years of growing experience, set the stage to produce fine flower and solvent-less extracts that can compete with the best on the shelves.

Please follow us and enjoy the process as we move through the seasons on our farm.
